I wish I could do it that way (it does sound great and is elegant and simple) but I'm so mobile and play at loud 'rock band' venues, and I simply can't get the volume levels before feedback. and don't fall off if you step on the lead!Ī single condensor mic is brilliant. They work, give quickly acheivable, consistent results regardless of volume, PA, venue, etc.

However, I still find myself using undersaddle pickups, carefully EQed, most of the time. The athletic 2021 Honda HR-V features a sleek body with redesigned wheels, side sills on the exterior trim, and an available honeycomb grille. No other EQ, no effects, just the raw pickup sound. Both through the Baggs GigPro with the bass rolled off. Quick and dirty, both played on the same Pono mahogany concert, one with the undersaddle, one with the Schertler stuck on the treble side of the bridge. I use a Baggs GigPro and wouldn't be without it. If you have a passive pickup, a pre-amp makes a world of difference. In this case, it’s a noise-cancelling mic mounted inside on the guitar’s bridge plate close to the guitar’s top the primary source of its tonal character. It combines a piezo pickup with a mic to achieve more of a ‘true’ acoustic sound.

Being a single coil pickup, the ProMag Plus has bell-like harmonics that sing like no other acoustical pickup. The LR Baggs Anthem Tru-Mic acoustic guitar pickup is the best all-rounder. ProMag's perfect balance and maple wood housing give it that smooth, high-end response that you want from an acoustical pickup.

I agree wholeheartedly with Rev Will about the pre-amp. Dean Markley's ProMag Plus acoustical pickup has become an industry standard. However, the Basik set can be had for under £100, and (as opposed to a permanent install) can be used on as many ukes as I like, so it works out quite cheap if you want to amplify several instruments. Granted some of those Schertlers are very expensive.
